The
difference between the two isn’t that spectacular as you can see. The
Island version (which was internationally released version) hasn’t got
Let Go, but has got Great American Nude and Right as Rain, which were also
on the zea single.
Why the hell include these two tracks, but not include Zea is a mystery to
me though. (Although [wwwcs3]
mentions a version of WCS with zea on it, but I’ve never seen a
copy of that) Why exactly Let go was dropped is equally strange.
There’s
no other way to put it, but this album solely put Belgium back on the map
of the musical landscape.
As an album, it’s wonderful, inspired, thrilling. As a debut album,
it’s pure genius. Suds & soda should have sky-rocketed dEUS into
international success, but the true commercial breakthrough didn’t take
place. Via and Hotellounge
should have done the same, but strangely, they didn’t either.
Eitherway- if you’re reading this you probably already have a copy of
WCS lying around, and don’t need to be convinced. If you haven’t- what
are you waiting for? It doesn’t get any better than this. |
