In my opinion, this is a wonderful and hugely underrated album. It’s a bit more quiet and less homogenic than the second album, but These days are the quiet kind has some very beautiful songs, and some cool ideas on how to make a traditional styled rock-ballad more interesting. The known influences are clear; Motorpsycho, Dinosaur Jr. and such, but Gore Slut never imitates, and dispite the limited, traditional line-up in instruments, they really produce an instantly recognisable sound.
If you're looking for an interesting but not too complicated or confusing album between Rudy's entire discography- this is probably it.

*Key largo is a reference to an ancient film from 1948 with the same name. It was directed by John Huston, and featured Humphrey Bogart, Lionel Barrymore and Lauren Bacall. The film is based on a theatre play from even earlier, 1939. more info here.
