The last album by Kiss My Jazz, and another beauty to add to the pile. This album was for the most part recorded live, using nothing but 2 microphones to registrate the songs. Result is a warm and cosy atmosphere, and more ‘songs’ than we’re used to from Kiss My Jazz. Viking Dave Robertson is now a far more prominent member than before, writing several songs and doing almost more vocals than Rudy.
This is Kiss My Jazz at their most athmospheric, and also at their most accessible, with only few moments of unexpected 180° turns in the songs, and less noise and more melody.
Once again, several styles are beautifully put together on one cd without any of them feeling out of place.
This machine is a short but powerful attempt at the punk genre, Finger on your trigger is a slightly ironic but nevertheless wonderful ballad from Viking Dave, and Small town lovers stroll is a quiet, jazzy love song which has a gentle summer breeze over it.
In case you hadn’t noticed, you need this album. I promise you won’t regret it.

Press and hold the manually rewind-button, and you’ll discover there’s a 24 minute EP hidden before the first track, titled ‘In a ghosttruck’.
This is an absolutely excellent bonus to an already fantastic album. It has some alternative versions of songs which are also on In a service Station, and some totally new ones. They’re not ‘left-overs’, they’re just songs that didn’t fit between the other ones on the ‘main part’ of the cd. A pain in the arse to always rewind those 24 minutes (and not all players allow you to do this), but it’s definitely worth it.
