Not many songs were left from the (chi-)Cago recording sessions, so in stead of using weird leftover to fill up single b-sides, musicians were sought to remix Dead Man Ray in stead.
Remixing Dead Man Ray seems like a dreadful idea (it still is), however both remixes on Landslide are a far cry from the idiotic just put a beat underneath it-mentality of lazy producers and deejays.
Colin Newman (of Wire) mixed the song to a more straightforward rocksong with a constant higher pace, turning it actually into a more radio-friendly single than the original.
The Atom Remix (by Atom Heart a.k.a. Senior Señor Cocnut a.k.a. Uwe Schmidt) is a clicks-and-cuts remix somewhere in the warm, cozy region of µ-ziq, Limp, Four Tet or even The Notwist.
Two totally different remixes and both musically nice to listen to rather than empty musical gadgets, very rare these days !

The single is out on both CDs and 10" heavyweight vinyl.
